LORAC

This past weekend I strolled into Sephora Inside JCPenny, ready to purchase a pallet I'd been coveting only to find out that they hadn't received it yet (DOH!). Thankfully, this was an opportunity for me to finally try LORAC. I've heard good things about this brand and since they also carry baked eye shadows (which have become my new make-up crush) I said "why not" - so into my hands went LORAC's Starry-eyed baked shadow in Starlett. These are three shades of purple goodness that are begging to be worn.

So the next morning, I apply these shades in a smokey eye formation before heading off to work. First, these are baked shadows which means it can be worn dry (for sheer color payoff) or wet (for a more intensity). I went the dry route since I was headed to work. Even dry, the colors were very pigmented and were easy to blend. Not only did this shadow last all day, but I got lots of compliments as well!

All in all, I think this is the beginning of a beautiful relationship. Can't wait to try other products.

NYX Mega Shine Lipgloss

Well I'm back in action after yesterday's perfume fiasco so it's time to start reviewing one of my latest purchases.  I'm an avid reader of fashion magazines and beauty blogs and many rave about a cosmetic line called NYX.  Founded in 1999 and based in Los Angles, NYX offers us the latest and the great colors and shades, while not compromising on quality (or at least that's what I've heard).  So I headed down to my local Ulta to pick up....what else......a lip gloss!

I grabbed NYX Mega Shine Lip Gloss in Sponge Cake and decided to take it for a test run today.  First, the color is more on the sheer side, so if you're looking for a pure pigmented color, this isn't it (although I did see a matte lip gloss offering by NYX so not all hope is lost).  It does offer a great amount of shine without your lips looking as if they were coated in oil.  It also wore very well - not sticky or tacky to the touch - it even passed my "hair caught in lip" test (meaning that if your hair blows upon your lip, it slides right off it).  My lips also stayed soft all day as well so there is obviously plenty of moisturizers in the formula.  I did have to re-apply throughout the day but let's be honest - all lip gloss are like this so to me, that wasn't a drawback.

At a price point of only $5.49 (at Ulta) you really have nothing to lose.  I definitely plan on purchasing another color soon!

Talk to you all later!

Welcome! Bienvenido! Selamat Datang !

Hello and welcome to my beauty blog!  Since I am a HUGE lover of all things beauty, I decided to start chronicling my beauty buys, trys, loves and duds.  As a self-professed lip gloss whore, I am on a quest to try every lip gloss made...well maybe not every one made but at least sold at Sephora and Chanel!

So normally here is where I would begin to talk about my latest haul,  however fate had other things in mind.  While flipping through the September issue of Lucky magazine, I noticed that DKNY has a new apple fragrance - Golden Delicious.  Now, I'm normally not into their apple scents, but since this was create in honor of my favorite apple (yum), I decided to head over to Ulta and try it.  So after I get there and grab a few goodies to review for the blog, I spy the bottle on the shelf.  So I grab the bottle and without checking where the sprayer is pointed, I spritz the scent - ALL OVER MY FACE!  I start flailing around like a nut trying to breathe!  It was so embarrassing, but on the upside, Golden Delicious did smell divine so the experience wasn't a total loss. lol

So while I recouperate from my *fail* at Ulta, you'll have to wait until next time...but don't fret!  I should be back in operation tomorrow.

Thanks for tuning in!
